I had been working out like a fiend. I felt good about my workouts. I felt great about myself. I was toned and trim. My body felt nice and tight.
One week ago, I was really happy with myself -- that elusive, all-too-infrequent happiness about how I looked and felt.
And then I got sick.
And skipped not one, not two, not three, but FOUR days of workouts. In a row.
And now I feel squishy. Soft. Lethargic and lazy. Yuck.
Back to square one, I guess. Starting tomorrow.

Bah -- I know that feeling. Two years ago I was really sick and missed THREE WEEKS. I ate bag after bag of mini chocolate bars while blowing my nose, rinsing my sinuses. It was terrible. I felt like such a pig one I got back to my routine.
It does suck missing workouts due to illness. At least it was just four days. You'll be back up to speed quickly.
Have a great weekend!
You'll be fine, sister. This is all part of it. The ebb and flow.
I relish in days I get to sit around on the couch and rest because I rarely get them. Try to look at the time off a little differently. Then when you're feeling good again - yipeeee, renewed vigor and your body has gotten some rest, which it probably needed.
I'm in the same boat. Injury + illness + exhaustion = a week's worth of skipped runs and workouts. The great thing is that our bodies benefit from rest* as much as the actual workout, so when both of us are able to get back at it, we'll be ready for it.
Feel better soon, okay?
*In my case, I'm pretty sure my body imposed rest days on me, because if it was left up to my brain I wouldn't have stopped.
Healing time is not always bad! Hang in there. How did the weekend go?
Oof. I did a bike trainer workout on Saturday (luckily, not a very difficult class as it was a step-back week), then a long SLOW run yesterday, then boot camp this morning. I. was. dying in boot camp. Sweat pouring off me, muscles screaming at me, short of breath... I loved it. :)
Thanks for all the positivity! I heart my blogger friends.
"Sweat pouring off me, muscles screaming at me, short of breath." That sounds like the tail end of that nasty sickness! Glad that it is sweating itself out! Good riddance!
