Well, as usual, I completely screwed up my pacing this morning. Coach made me do another ladder (even though I hate the ladder!).
The bad news - I went out way too fast on the first interval.
The good news - I didn't slow down after it, at least.
1600 = 7:18
1200 = 5:27 (7:18 pace again)
800 = 3:38 (7:16 pace)
400 = 1:44 (6:58 pace)
My legs felt dead the whole time. I was really struggling to finish the intervals and ended up skipping the sprints (200 and a few 100s).
Now I'm just wondering when my running mojo will come back to me. Soon, I hope! I'll need it on May 3 (and May 16, May 17, June 13, July 27, August 16, September 20, October 11, and November 8). Yes, those are all the dates I'm scheduled to race this year. Good grief. Addicted, much???

I really need to try this ladder thing! Nice work. With those paces it looks like the mojo is there already!
Cindi, I would agree with you if I'd felt remotely comfortable at any point during the workout. Grrrrrrr. It'll come back. It has to! :)
holy race schedule!?!?!
I need to start doing track intervals...after I run the mountain.
and i'd have to agree w/rftl. that's some nice speed going there. so you felt like ass....big deal. the tough workouts make the race that much easier.
go get 'em kiddo!
love the track workouts. so nice to live a 2 mile jog from a public track now! you are a total badass.
