One bad day

That's all it takes, apparently. One bad eating day, and my gut is back.

Yesterday, for some inexplicable reason, I craved McDonalds. I almost never crave fast food. It's just not that appealing to me (except McDonalds apple pies, which are the BOMB). We didn't grow up having it, so maybe that's why I didn't acquire a taste for it.

Don't get me wrong. I find McDonalds french fries as addictive as the next person. All that salty goodness... mmm.... But greasy burgers and salty fries are not typically what I crave when I have a craving. No, friends, chocolate is what I crave.

Yesterday, however, I had to have those fries. I'd had a very small, very unsatisfying, very overpriced salad for lunch, and 2 hours later I was hungry again. So off to the drive-through I went. At first I planned to just get the fries, but I talked myself into a hamburger too. And 2 apple pies, because I simply cannot drive by that window without buying apple pie.

They were good. All of them. They were the smallest possible portions I could have consumed, but they opened the floodgates. When I got back to my office, I also had Gobstoppers and 2 mini (snack size) candy bars (one Snickers, one Milky Way). I'd also already eaten the aforementioned salad, a yogurt, a banana, cereal, a Mojo bar, and 6-7 jelly beans.

Is it any wonder my stomach is a wreck today? I'm bloated, I look like I regained whatever poundage I'd lost, and I feel like crap.

So not worth it.

In my opinion, its ok to have a cheat once a week. Sometimes its worth it, sometimes it helps from cheating other days, do i want to waste my cheat day at an office potluck or wait for something I really want.

I agree with you about the apples pies

PS your pukie is up

Being the tri-geek that I am, I study my races, inside and out, I read the race reports of people who did it, ask friends who have done it. From everything I have gathered, the Warrior Dash is not tough at all. Its a 5k with some easy obsatcles, they all said that the people who did not do well, havent exercise in years and thought this was a good idea. So we are safe, I feel. I will know more after Saturday and will post about it

You're a sweetheart! There are tons to choose from -- Warrior Dash, Spartan Run, Metro Dash... Of course I want to do whichever is the toughest! Can't wait to hear how it goes for you.

I have done the warrior dash in Austin. I did it for a challenge for my members (I put a group together of my members from my classes and made shirts...etc...) and did not "race" it. Loads of my members had never done a "race" before and most of them are not "runners or triathletes" I would run ahead, take pics of them and wait for them, run ahead and then finished all together since I wanted to finish with most of them. It is just a fun run. When I was done...I wanted more. :) I am not a short distance kind of girl. I did the Hell Run in Austin last month and it was challenging cause I did the 7 mile course. The obstacles weren't too bad but the trail run was hard because there were loads of hills. It is just a fun thing to do but I wouldn't say it was hard.

It's ok to cheat once in a while. You gotta live too.

If I haven't had fries for a while, I crave them too (and go get them).
