Not funny as in haha. I don't want you to think you're going to read this post and chuckle all the way through, thinking, "Oh that Theia. She is SO funny! What a wonderfully brilliant sense of humor she has!"
Not that kind of funny.
More like ironic funny. Because if you remember, a few months ago I was ready to sell my bike and never ride it again. I just wasn't enjoying cycling, didn't want to train for races, and felt an overwhelming sense of "why bother?"
Then on May 23, while teaching one of my classes, I tore my glute. You already know about that. And THEN, on June 29, also while teaching a class, I strained my lower back. Now, the back problem is related to the glute; weakness in my glute caused my back to give out because all the other muscles in my right side had been working overtime to compensate for the glute, and at that moment my lower back had had enough, apparently.
No running for me, obviously. But guess what I can still do?
You got it. Ride my bike.
So instead of selling my bike, I've spent nearly $600 on it this summer! New bike rack for my car, new pump, and new pedals, clips, insoles, and shoes. What the ?? I thought I was going to MAKE money off this blasted thing! Not so much, huh?
But can you imagine if I had indeed sold it? No running, no biking, no sustained exercise of any kind. I would be even more of a miserable wretch than I already am! (Now THAT's a scary thought!)

When I don't have to ride my bike every weekend for 4 hours + I really quite enjoy biking. Glad you had a fallback plan.
I go through phases with my bike. Right now I'm really enjoying mine as well. It is funny how that works out.
Ride strong and have fun!
My poor bike needs some TLC. :(
