Hello hello. Relaxed. Restored.
What is it about 8 days at the shore that can make all your worries and problems seem to disappear?
And given that that's the case, why don't I live there year-round???
My family and I spent 8 glorious days at the Jersey Shore. Not the stupid Jersey Shore from the tv show; we were several hours south of those knuckleheads, thankyouverymuch. My shore town is an idyllic, peaceful, quiet family town. We've been vacationing there since I was about 6, and I can't imagine anywhere else I'd rather go. It's where I want to retire someday. Where I want my children and grandchildren to go so they can enjoy the same wonderful memories I've enjoyed all these years.
Last week we had some really, really hot days and some dreary, drizzly days. We ate the best icecream in the world (Springer's Homemade Ice Cream) four times. I biked four times, did a freestanding, unassisted headstand in yoga (my first!), walked everywhere, frolicked in the ocean, tanned, ate, slept, relaxed, and generally felt like I was in heaven for a short time.
Coming back was really, really hard.

Good for you having a great few days at the beach. BTW, my parents live in Lavallette, NJ, a nice quiet beach town....that happens to be no more than a mile or two from Snookie and the Situation.
My cousins have a house in Lavellette! I visited there a few years ago -- cute little town!! Keep the Snookies away!
I'm glad you were in a no-Snookie zone. That picture looks incredibly idyllic and I am officially jealous. I thought you'd also like to nwo tat blogger didn't eat your comment, ha ha!
what amazes me is how quickly my regular routine can wipe out the peaceful feeling that comes from a relaxing vacation. hope you stay restored for a while!
Ahhhhhh -- you can feel the peacefulness of the pic! :) :) I just ate four ice cream nestle cornetto things -- but I ate them one after the other - does that count as one time or four times? (LMAO! I say it only counts as once! Hee-hee!!!)
YAY for the headstand!!! That is so cool!! Nice to hear that you are relaxed and restored! :) :)
Love the beach. We use to go to Ocean City MD for family vacation as kids. Now we take our kids to gulf shores since it is closer for us. Nothing like the breeze, smell, and sound of the ocean.
