My office is next to an elementary school, and when I leave the parking lot I drive right by the playing fields. Yesterday, as I was heading out, I noticed a football rolling down the street. I also noticed two children in the field, so I pulled over and asked if the football was theirs. It was.
So I hopped out of my car, jogged down the street to retrieve the football, threw the worst spiral ever over the fence to the kid who was closer, jogged back to my car, and headed home.
Wait. Let's review that sentence again.
I jogged down the street, threw the football, and jogged back to my car. Without any thought or intention, like it was the most natural thing in the world. And, more importantly, without any pain. I didn't even realize what I'd done until I was a block or so away, at which point I thought, "OMG! I ran! I ran and didn't feel anything! I ran!!!!"
It's been more than 9 weeks since the injury occured and more than 6 weeks since I last ran. Think I'm getting a bit restless? :)
I told this story to my physical therapist last night, and he said I will start running on the anti-gravity treadmill next week. Probably just 1-2 minutes at a time, interspersed with walking, but can I get a WOO HOO????

The anti-gravity treadmill?!?! How fancy schmancy is that? Hahahahahaha -- so awesome! I can't wait for you to describe what it is like running on that thing! So cool! :)
Love, love, love that you hopped out of your car and jogged without pain!!! YAY!!!!!
Nice. Coming back and being able to run after an injury is one of the best feelings ever. And yeah - your PT has an anti-G treadmill??? You must be on one of those "Cadillac" insurance plans, ha ha!
Woohoo! That is awesome!
YAY!
